Welcome to our alpaca farm photo
gallery.
Pictured above are photos of some of the
alpacas bred and owned by Shekinah's Alpacas. The beautiful
natural colors and wonderful fleece are produced from
carefully selected breeding choices. We are breeding
for quality Huacaya alpacas using some of the finest
bloodlines including Accoyo from the renowned Accoyo
ranch in Peru, home to the finest white-fleeced alpacas
in the world.
There are also pictures of our Colorado
alpaca ranch in progress. Although much work has been
completed since the initial purchase such as erecting
the barn, replacing fencing and pasture reclamation,
improvements are planned for ongoing vegetation maintenance
and additional shelters.
The yarn pictured comes from the fleece
of the alpacas. Their fur, known as "fleece,"
is shorn off once a year without harming the alpaca,
and we have it processed by mills into alpaca yarn,
roving, sliver and batts. We usually have raw fleece
available as well for the hand spinner.
