Our online fiber store offers alpaca yarn, alpaca hats,
alpaca teddy bears, and alpaca mittens. Yarn and products
made from alpaca should be washed and handled like other
woolen products: gently wash with a very mild detergent
in cool water, press out the water and lay flat to dry
(or dry clean). Some of the yarn we have for sale is
dye free; the beautiful natural colors come from the
different shades of the fleece as it grows on the alpacas.
The alpaca registry recognizes several natural colors
ranging from white to fawns (light shades of tan and
orange) to browns, blacks and grays including rose-grays
and silver grays.
The dyed yarns that we offer below are
dyed with natural vegetable dyes. Alpaca yarn is extremely
soft, yet strong and very warm. Alpaca wool does felt,
so it's appropriate for those special felted hat, purse,
or felted bag projects for felted knits.
